StixCut is built specifically for the Liene PixCut S1, connecting over USB or Bluetooth. Additional cutter support may be added in future releases.
StixCut runs entirely offline. Your sticker library lives on your machine — no cloud account, no sync, no login required. A monthly subscription requires internet access to validate your subscription.
StixCut is available for macOS 13 Ventura and later (Apple Silicon and Intel). Windows is coming soon.
Make sure the PixCut S1 is powered on and not connected to another device or app. For USB, try a different port or cable — some cables are charge-only. For Bluetooth, remove the printer from your system's Bluetooth paired list and scan again from inside StixCut. If the issue persists, email support@stixcut.com.
Yes. Import any SVG file and StixCut will use its path data as the cutline. You can also align a custom SVG manually against existing artwork on the canvas. The cut margin offset applies to SVG paths the same as auto-traced ones.
Open Settings › Cut and adjust the blade pressure. For kiss-cut, the default is 42 — increase it if the blade isn't reaching through, decrease it if it's cutting into the backing. Make small adjustments (5 units at a time) on scrap media first.
Make sure the sticker sheet is loaded straight and fully seated before printing. A small, consistent offset can sometimes be corrected by adjusting the cut margin per-sticker. A full calibration flow (adjusting the printer's internal offset parameters) is planned for a future update.
Yes. StixCut documents save the full session state — placements, positions, cut settings, and cut path edits. Use File › Save (⌘S) or enable auto-save in Settings › General. Auto-save triggers 3 seconds after the last change, once the document has been saved to disk at least once.
Yes. File › Export saves the current sheet as PNG or PDF at printer resolution — useful for proofing, sharing with clients, or archiving designs.
Select a sticker placement and click "Remove Background" in the Inspector. StixCut uses Apple's on-device Vision APIs — no image is sent anywhere. The operation supports undo.
A peel tab is a small notch cut alongside a perf-cut sticker's edge so you can get a fingernail under it easily. Enable perf-cut on a sticker, then find the Peel Tab controls in the Inspector. The radius defaults to 4 mm and can be moved along the cut edge using the position offset slider.
No. StixCut is an independent third-party app by Art Hax, LLC. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Liene, PixCut, or HongKong Hannto Technology Co. Limited. It communicates with the PixCut S1 using the printer's documented protocol.

1
Download and install StixCut
Grab the latest build from stixcut.com/download. Open the DMG, drag StixCut to Applications, and launch it. macOS may ask you to allow it on first run — open System Settings › Privacy & Security and click "Open Anyway" if prompted.
2
Get familiar with the layout
The window has three areas: the Library sidebar on the left (your sticker images), the Canvas in the center (the sheet you'll print), and the Inspector on the right (settings for whatever is selected). The toolbar shows the document name and the Print & Cut button.
3
Import your sticker images
Drag image files (PNG, JPG, HEIC, SVG) directly into the Library sidebar, or use File › Import Images. You can also drag an entire folder in to create a named group. StixCut automatically traces a cut path for each raster image.
4
Place stickers on the sheet
Drag a sticker from the Library onto the canvas sheet, or double-click a library item to place it at the center. You can place the same sticker multiple times. Resize or rotate using the handles that appear when a placement is selected.
5
Connect your PixCut S1
Plug the printer in via USB or power it on for Bluetooth. Click the device pill in the top-right of the toolbar and select your printer. The pill turns cyan when connected.
6
Hit Print & Cut
Press ⌘P or click the Print & Cut button. A progress overlay appears showing each phase: prepare, upload, print, cut, done. When "DONE" appears and confetti falls, your sheet is ready.
Tip
StixCut works completely offline. No Liene account, no cloud sync, and no internet connection is needed after installation.

USB

1
Power on the PixCut S1 and plug it into your Mac using the included USB cable.
2
In StixCut, click the device pill in the toolbar and select your printer from the list.
3
The pill label updates to show the printer name in cyan. You're ready to print.

Bluetooth

1
Power on the PixCut S1. Make sure it isn't already connected to another device.
2
Click the device pill and then Scan. StixCut scans directly — no macOS Bluetooth pairing needed.
3
Select the printer when it appears. The device pill turns cyan when the connection is live.

Troubleshooting

Printer not detected
Make sure the PixCut S1 is powered on. For USB, try a different port or cable — some cables are charge-only. For Bluetooth, check that the printer isn't already connected to another device. Only one connection at a time is supported.
Bluetooth keeps disconnecting
The PixCut S1 has a configurable auto-off timer. Open Settings › Printer Details and set Auto-Off to a longer interval, or "Never," if sessions frequently time out mid-print.
Stuck on "Connecting..."
Quit StixCut, power-cycle the printer, and reopen the app. If the problem recurs, go to macOS System Settings › Bluetooth and remove any PixCut entry from your paired list before scanning again.

Auto-Trace

When you import a raster image (PNG, JPG, HEIC), StixCut uses Apple's Vision framework to automatically trace a cut path around the subject. The result appears as a magenta outline on the canvas — no action required.

If the trace is too tight or too loose, select the sticker and adjust the Cut Margin in the Inspector. Positive values push the cut path outward; negative values pull it inward. Default is 1.5 mm.

SVG Cut Path Import

To use a hand-drawn or Illustrator/Affinity-exported cutline, import the SVG file into the Library. In the Inspector, set the cut layer kind to SVG. The path is read from the file directly rather than auto-traced.

You can also import an SVG onto the canvas and align it manually against existing artwork, then use it as the cut layer for a separate image placement.

Node Editing

Click the cut path overlay on the canvas to enter node editing mode. Drag nodes to move them, or drag the Bezier control arms to adjust the curve. Click away to exit. Edited paths survive session saves and undo/redo.

Kiss-Cut vs. Perf-Cut

  • Kiss-cut — blade cuts through sticker film but not the backing. Stickers stay on the sheet and peel individually.
  • Perf-cut — a dashed perforated cut for shapes you tear out rather than peel.

Toggle per-sticker in the Inspector, or set the sheet default in Sheet Settings (select nothing to see it).

Peel Tabs

When perf-cut is enabled, you can add a peel tab — a small notch cut into the backing that makes the sticker easy to pop off.

  • Default radius: 4 mm (max 8 mm)
  • Position offset: -200 mm to +200 mm along the cut edge
  • An arrow symbol prints on the sheet showing which direction to peel

Cut Safety Margins

The PixCut S1 has a 2 mm safety zone on the left and right edges — the blade can't reach there. StixCut shows these as guide lines on the canvas. The cut path is clipped to the printable area before sending to the printer.

Manual Placement

  • Drag a sticker from the Library sidebar onto the canvas sheet to place it.
  • Double-click a library item to place it at the center of the sheet.
  • Drag corner handles to resize; drag the rotation handle above the selection to rotate.
  • Hold while dragging a corner to scale from center.
  • Hold while rotating to snap to 15° increments.
  • Hold and drag a placement to duplicate it.
  • Press ⌘D to duplicate the selected placement.
  • ⌘-click to multi-select, then use the alignment grid in the Inspector.

Auto-Pack

Auto-Pack uses a maximal-rectangles algorithm to fit all library stickers as efficiently as possible. Click Auto-Pack in the toolbar to pack the current sheet. Use Shuffle Pack to fill with a random selection from your library. Click Auto-Pack again to cycle through remaining stickers until everything has been printed.

SettingDefaultWhat it controls
Sticker Gap2 mmMinimum space between stickers.
Left Margin2 mmDistance from the left edge (matches cut safety zone).
Max Sticker Size45 mmStickers larger than this are excluded — resize them first.
Allow RotationOnLets auto-pack rotate stickers 90° to fit more.

Media Types & Sheet Size

  • Print & Cut — 4×7 in (default). Full PixCut S1 media size.
  • Print Only — 4×6 in. Raster print, no cut job sent.
  • Custom — set your own dimensions and cut support.

  • Zoom: ⌘+ / ⌘- or pinch on trackpad
  • Fit to window: ⌘0   Actual size: ⌘1
  • Pan: Space + drag, or two-finger drag on trackpad

Blade Pressure

Set in Settings › Cut. Pressure is a 1-100 scale; higher drives the blade deeper.

ModeDefaultTypical range
Kiss-cut4230-55 for most vinyl sticker paper
Perf-cut5345-65; perf-cut needs more force

Cut Margin

Offsets the cut path outward from the traced image edge. Positive = bleed; negative = tucks inside.

SettingDefaultRange
Cut margin1.5 mm-5 mm to +5 mm

Perf-Cut Dash Settings

SettingDefault
Dash length8 mm
Dash spacing0.05 mm

Longer dashes tear more cleanly. Shorter dashes produce a finer perforation.

Material Profiles

The built-in Oracal 651 profile works well for most glossy vinyl. Create custom profiles in Settings › General under Custom Media Types — each stores its own dimensions, cut support flag, and name.

Cuts too deep or too shallow?
Start with the default pressure and make a test cut on scrap media. Adjust by 1-2 units at a time — small changes have a noticeable effect. For new media, start around 35-40 and work up until the sticker cuts cleanly without cutting through the backing.
About the cutting strip
The PixCut S1 uses a replaceable PTFE/Teflon cutting strip beneath the media path to protect the blade and prevent damage to the machine. With official Liene sticker sheets and StixCut's default kiss-cut settings, the blade should not cut through the material into the strip.

However, perf-cut mode and higher custom blade pressure settings are designed to cut deeper and will eventually score or gouge the cutting strip. This is normal behavior on professional cutting devices. Over time the strip will show visible wear where cuts repeatedly land.

Replace the cutting strip and blade periodically to maintain clean cut quality and consistent depth. StixCut sells replacement cutting strips and replacement blades tested specifically for PixCut machines in the Accessories section of the store. For regular use, replacement every few months is typical depending on media type and cut pressure.
